Attorney Gavin Oppermann, Esquire to Give CLE Seminar
August 2010

On August 10, 2010, the firm’s own Gavin Oppermann, Esquire will be teaching a Continuing Legal Education seminar on landlord-tenant law. The “Landlord-Tenant Law Update” seminar will cover a wide range of issues affecting landlords and tenants, including, but not limited, to lease provisions and issues, landlord and tenant obligations, the eviction process, and dispute resolution. Continuing Legal Education seminars such as this one are typically taught by judges and other attorneys who have extensive experience in that particular area of law. Edward H. Hill, Esquire was recently elected to the Gloucester County Democratic Committee. The Committee is responsible for choosing the Democratic candidates for local and county government positions and for providing support for those candidates during their campaigns.

Mattleman, Weinroth & Miller, P.C. is pleased to announce that two of its attorneys, Kimberley Kluchnick and Alison Weinroth-Shaw, have recently been appointed to the Cooper Foundation Board of Trustees.  The Cooper Foundation, an independent charitable organization, provides support to Cooper Hospital and The Cooper Health System. Its Board of Trustees is comprised of a select group of individuals charged with furthering the mission of The Cooper Foundation. 

Firm Attorney Appointed to Local Municipal Board

Attorney Edward H. Hill, Esquire was recently appointed to the Board of the Logan Township Municipal Utilities Authority. The MUA is responsible for operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment facilities within Logan Township. The Board consists of five members who are appointed for a term of five years and two alternates who are appointed for a term of three years.

At the beginning of this year, attorneys Kimberley Kluchnick, Esquire and Alison B. Weinroth-Shaw, Esquire were made partners at the firm. Ms. Kluchnick, a general civil litigator and certified civil mediator, concentrates her practice on civil litigation, contracts, consumer matters, estate litigation and personal injury. Ms. Weinroth-Shaw serves the Chair of the Creditors' Rights Department and also practices Family and Municipal Law.

John X. Denney, Jr., Esquire spoke at a Delaware State Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Seminar entitled "Defense of Child Protection, Sex Abuse and Adult Abuse Regestries." Delaware attorneys are required to attend a certain number of Continuing Legal Education seminars in order to maintain their licenses. Speakers at these seminars are typically judges and attorneys with extensive experience in that particular area of law.

Kimberley Kluchnick, Esquire elected to Haddon Heights School Board
April 2009

Kimberley Kluchnick, our firm’s managing attorney a member of our civil litigation department, was elected this month to the Haddon Heights School Board. Ms. Kluchnick concentrates her practice on civil litigation and consumer rights matters. She also currently serves as the Haddon Heights Municipal Prosecutor, to which position she was reappointed in 2008 after a four-year hiatus.

Mattleman, Weinroth & Miller, P.C. is pleased to welcome Nestor H. Smith, Esquire to the Firm. Mr. Smith is a civil litigator who concentrates his practice in the areas of Corporate and Business Law, Creditors' Rights, and Collections. Prior to joining Mattleman, Weinroth & Miller, P.C., Mr. Smith was an associate with one of the region’s largest civil litigation defense firms and served as a law clerk to the Honorable David W. Morgan, JSC. He is currently an adjunct professor in addition to being an attorney, and has previously served as Solicitor to a large municipality in southern New Jersey.

On April 14, 2009, Mattleman, Weinroth & Miller, P.C. and Aurelia M. Durant, Esq. presented the third in a series of seminars at Cooper Hospital’s Ripa Center for Women. Alison B. Weinroth-Shaw, Esq., C. Gavin Oppermann, Esq., and Aurelia Mitchell Durant, Esq. presented the seminar entitled “Financial Recovery: Steps to Break Free from Debt and Find Peace of Mind”. The seminar addressed common issues faced by those dealing with debt and provided tools for getting personal finances under control in order to break free from debt.

Early this year, George J. Weinroth, Esquire, currently Of Counsel with the Firm, accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer of Cooper University Physicians. A former partner and founder of the Firm, Mr. Weinroth was Chairman of the Cooper Foundation’s Board of Trustees prior to accepting his new position. For many years, Mr. Weinroth has been an active volunteer and public servant to Camden and the surrounding region, serving as Municipal Judge for the Boroughs of Oaklyn and Woodlynne, and as President of the Camden County Municipal Court Judges Association. On March 17, 2009 (originally scheduled for March 3, 2009), Mattleman, Weinroth & Miller, P.C. presented the second in a series of three seminars addressing legal issues facing women today. The seminar, entitled “Estate Planning Essentials: Why Preparing for the Future is Vital”, was given by John C. Miller, III, Esq., Kimberley Kluchnick, Esq., and Lauren E. Foley, Esq., and focused on common estate planning documents that every person should have.

On February 3, 2009, attorneys from Mattleman, Weinroth & Miller, P.C. presented the first in a series of three seminars at Cooper Hospital’s Ripa Center for Women. Alison B. Weinroth-Shaw, Esq. and George J. Weinroth, Esq. presented the seminar entitled “Taking Control: Divorce Planning for Women”, which discussed the process of divorce and how to prepare for it.

Kimberley Kluchnick Esquire reappointed Haddon Heights Municipal Court Prosecutor

Kimberley Kluchnick, Esquire, was recently reappointed as Municipal Court Prosecutor for the borough of Haddon Heights and was appointed as Back-Up Borough Solicitor at the 2009 Reorganization Meeting. Ms. Kluchnick is an active member of her community and also served as Vice Chair of the Haddon Heights Planning Board. As an associate with the Firm, she concentrates her practice primarily on civil litigation and consumer rights matters.

Mattleman, Weinroth & Miller, P.C. Collects Donations for Camden County Women’s Center
November 2008

Last fall, Mattleman, Weinroth & Miller, P.C. partnered with Cooper for Women (now the Ripa Center for Women) to collect items and donations for Camden County Women’s Center. The CCWC provides free services to women in crisis and victims of domestic violence in Camden County, New Jersey. Free health screenings were offered by Cooper for Women, and the firm’s family law attorneys were on hand to offer pro bono legal advice to those who qualified. The firm received truck loads of donations of clothing, household, and other items from members of the surrounding community, as well as from members of the firm itself, making the drive a great success.

Six Mattleman, Weinroth & Miller, P.C. attorneys voted Best of South Jersey by South Jersey Magazine
August 2008

In its August 2008 issue, South Jersey Magazine named six of the firm’s attorneys as the “Best of South Jersey”. Every year, South Jersey Magazine polls attorneys in the area and asks them to vote for those attorneys who excel in each area of law. Those attorneys with the most votes are awarded the “Best of South Jersey” in that area of law. The Firm’s winners were as follows:
