If you are slapped with a temporary restraining order, the final hearing will happen in an extremely short period of time (days), so consult an attorney immediately.
Read the order and understand clearly what you cannot do. You can’t contact the victim in any way at all – not directly, not through third parties, not through social media, nothing. You can’t contact their employer, relatives – nothing at all.
Violation of a final restraining order is construed as contempt of court and could result in 30 days in jail.
It is absolutely imperative that you get an attorney, since a restraining order is a civil matter and you cannot benefit from a public defender, and imposition of a restraining order could have negative ramifications on your ability to be employed.
